G'day

Could someone please tell me what effect will the idle mixture have on full throttle performance of the above motor. I have just re-assembled the carbs after a clean out and I need to re set the mixture. Also what is the best way to set the mixture?
Thanks to all those who replyed to my previous post--Much appreciated!

Turn each low-speed needle clockwise until needles seat gently. Do not force. Turn each needle counterclockwise 5/8 turn. Start motor. allow motor to reach opperating temp by running it in a tank or lake (water). Run motor at fast idle (750-800rpm) in gear. Adjust low-speed needles one at a time until the highest rpm and smoothest performance are obtained. I has been my expirence that the starting setting of the needles is usually a little on the rich side. If the low-speed needles are set anywhere close to start you should have little to no affect on high-speed opperation. Once the throtle butterfly opens it draws fuel from the main nozzle.
