1973 50hp johnson won't start

Can someone please tell me where I got my wires crossed...lol. I just replaced my ignition switch and I think I have got the wires hooked up wrong, i am just not sure which are right and which aren't.

old switch, separate choke toggle switch

red/purple stripe-----B
white---------------S
purple--------------The choke then to A
purple/white--------Other side of choke switch
black---------------M(to the left of B)
black/yellow--------M(to the right of B)
brown--------------Buzzer then to A
grey---------------taped off

new switch, push to choke

red/purple----------B
white--------------S
purple-------------A/M(up and left of B)
purple/white-------C
black--------------M(down and right of B)
black/yellow-------I
Brown-------------Buzzer then to A/M
grey--------------still taped off

motor turns but won't fire. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Wrong switch.

I - Ignition

M - Magneto

They are NOT the same.

'Ignition' style switch supplies voltage to the I terminal in the RUN position, nothing when OFF.

Magneto style switch, nothing in the RUN position, grounds when OFF.

The question now is have you fried anything in your mag style ignition by suppling 12 volts to it?

the switch I have is a universal for both ignition and magneto types, any suggestions on how to wire in that case?
