What is holding it down? There is a tilt lock mechanism that grabs hold of the trim pin at the bottom of the mounting brackets. Check that it is releasing properly.

If the cylinder is frozen about the only option you have is to remove it. Once you have it free from the motor you can determine if it can be fixed or if it needs to be replaced.

its hurt already
cant hurt it worse.
the older manual tilt shocks did have a tendancy to lock. and in the salt pond are usually a beast to change. usually they locked up where the shaft enters the shock.

i can unscrew the shaft out of the cylinder and put it back in with ease. but cant get it to go in and out or up and down i shoud say. it is the piston in side the cylinder that is froze to the inside. but will a tourch help. thanks

w
well, thanks any way. iam going to keep trying. the pin that holds the cylinder on looks like it it part of the motor now. I think i would have better luck just to keep woorking on the cylinder for now. ill let you guys know weather it works out or if i loose all my hair. already lost most of the skin on my knuckles.
