1973 65hp Johnson outboard Servicing required

Hi guys, i have one of these engines i brought second hand a few months ago and i sent it to seamark marine in bassets pole near Tamworth, I took it there 8 weeks ago today for a full service and tune up and impeller change, As the weeks have gone by they told me they had done service but they was busy and would take longer, and then they said they had done the impeller change and was gonna do carbs, Well after lots of phone calls, and never no reply i finally spoke to someone who works in the workshop who kindly told me that NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO MY ENGINE AS THEY DID NOT HAVE A MANUAL grr, so i am going to go and collect tomorrow with no charge of course, So what i am asking dop you know anybody in the midland area who may be able to carry out a service on this engine. Obviously 8 weeks ago i was hoping to take me boat out but no joy as of yet, Please help and advise. Cheers

Apparently they dont service Johnson/Evinrude motors......

Take it to a GOOD BRP dealer. 8 weeks? I'd be wild as there is no excuse for that sh**t. Call BRP customer service at 1-847-689-7090 and they should be able to point you to a good dlr in your area.

This is one of those too frequent cases where a poster who doesn't let us know where he/she is located hampers their likelihood of getting a worthwhile response.

Tamworth is in Ontario Canada, and I know a couple of good marinas nearby.... Midland is in Ontario as well, and I know a few good marinas there as well....but it is almost 1/2 way across the province from Tamworth....so why are you driving 300+ km. ??

But I took 10 seconds and googled "Bassets Pole" (never heard of it )....and find that you are obviously talking about places in the UK....and may mean the "Midlands". :facepalm:

You should make that a PROMINENT part of your query....at least IMO.

Take it to Short's marine in Millsboro. Oh crap, that's in the USA.
