1973 65hp johnson

Hope someone can help me please. I have a 1973 65hp johnson that hit a rock and broke the lower housing (this is a powershiftII hydro shift not elec) anyway I have found a 1979 60hp with a cooked engine. will this lower unit interchange complete, or just the housing, or nothing.

no, you need 1973-1976 they went to mechanical shift in 1977.

Can I not go with the whole leg then and eliminate that hydro crap. or at least is the housing going to be the same?
