Can anyone tell me if this model's charging output, with battery installed, will go above battery voltage (charging), when running at idle or fast idle with flushing muff installed?

Manual is on the way, I wanted to get a jump start on this fine old machine.

This model seems to have a manual shift? I have read threads that all say they are having problems with electric shift.

Thanks in advance from this newbie grandpa.

The voltage will go up if it is being charged. It takes awhile, but eventually it will go so high you will thing it is overcharging (it isn't)

1973 has PowerShift. It has an oil pump in the lower unit supplying pressure to a hydraulic assist cylinder that makes it easier to shift. Works sort of on the same principle as power steering on a car.

Takes regular Hi-Vis gearcase oil
