I have a 1973 7.5 h.p. with the thunderbolt ignition. I got it from a friend of my dad and he only used it a couple times when he first got it in 73 now it has just sat. Just about all the wires insulation is cracking and falling off leaving exposed wires. How should i go about replacing the wires. Like what gauge and what type and so on. Thanks all in advance for the help

14 gauge is all right, be sure to solder the ends ad it's a high voltade system. The more flexable the wure is the better as it is moving each time the throttle is moved.
