I have a 1973 70, I belive the model number is 707HF. Someone removed the timing belt and I am not sure if I have it back on right. My service manual shows a sticker on the flywheel, I have no sticker. The posts I have read say to line up the timing mark on the flywheel with the "I" on the pointer. The only thing I can find on the flywheel is the numbers 10, 14, and 316. My pointer just has lines with the numbers 2 and 4, like a car. I took the sparkplugs out and when the #1 piston got to the top the "10" on the flywheel was at the edge of the pointer. This is where i set the distrbutor. Can someone tell me if this is right? I haven't tried to start it yet but I do have spark. I am new to outboards and would really appreciate any help.
