Hey guys I finally solved my starting issues. and got a chance to get on the water last week.
Was a thing of beauty when I turned the key she fired and died then fired with out choke instantly. Warmed it up at the dock and backed out no problem. Hit forward fine and off I went!:D
Parked it at a dock that night and then the next day took it out. When I use foward it sounds like it is slipping or grinding, I am almost 100% sure prop isn't moving.
First day it did that for a second then uhh it hit gear and boat was able to drive no problem.
Next day it did it alot more while I was trying to get boat to launch to get it back out of water. I had to move the throttle more until it engaged and of course the rpm were higher and I really hated that feeling.

So I had a look @ the motor when I move the shifter there is one linkage for the shifter & throttle, and a second for the warm up lever linkage. Each have a adjustment knob on them. The shifter adjustment is all the way tight (clockwise when looking at carbs.)
Its almost as if the rpms when engageing into forward are not enough. OR the shifter isn't adjusted and comes in to late.
I plan on selling this boat but need it to show well enough and possibly test drive. Can't have it start doing this now.
Any ideas?

You may have some clutch dog and gear probs in the lower unit.

So most of the shifting stuff is all in lower unit?
Where should I start? drop botom end? and will the clutch dogs and gear problems be obvious?
Was hoping to have a look and maybe take on the river and see if makes any difference.

This doesn't make sense to me. I believe you will find that you have a lever for throttle, and a lever for shifting.
I would look at shift cable adjustment before I got too far into thinking L/U.

One cable and adjuster at the motor end is for throttle/fast idle.....the second cable and adjuster is for shift.
