first i want to say thanks to everyone that helped me get my ignition problem sorted out, replaced my timer base and motor runs like a charm, but as i said this is a new boat to me and i am having a prop problem i think, it is "spinning out" at high rpms (around 4500) it is not a power trimmed, and i have dropped it as low as it will go, this helped but won't get over 4500 rpm now, a sympton fix i think. I was wondering if it is possibly propped too slow? Might be helpful to know i'm pushing a 29ft pontoon with this motor

dulind,

Yes, 4500 is WAY to slow for that engine. Especially pushing a load like that. You'll kill it quick running like that.

Drop your prop. pitch to get it to 5500.

Remember, a general rule, one inch of pitch is usually worth 200 rpm.
