Hi guys i was just wondering if it is possible to fit a starter motor to this engine?

This may be a European model, which could be a de-tuned 25 HP. If that is the case, then there is a starter available.
It would be very expensive to do this for a nearly 40 year old motor.....

If you have the time and wait for a great deal ebay is the place to get a starter,The mount and solenoid,Over the winter I picked up 3 starters and mounts 85 cheapest 126 higest price,normally the same seller doesnt have all three parts,If you search and wait for a deal it can be done.

Well the actual seriel no and model no plate is missing from the transom?
Is there a way i can tell?

On top of the engine1/3 forward of the plugs you'll see a welch plug bout a quarter sized freeze plug looking,on it should be stamped model and ser#.
