1973 Islander 4 or 6 cylinder Volvo? Seating mods/ideas?

Greetings,
Just picked up a 73 Islander in decent shape with a Volvo 4 and Penta 270T drive. Can Volvo 6 bolt right on or will the 6 just be too much power for the boat?

Also looking foir any ideas on how to mount back to back seats on top of the tanks and how to make a sundeck out of the doghouse. Any ideas or photos will be appreciated.

Hey mike welcome to the Starcraft division of iboats!

I can't tell ya for sure what will bolt up to what with Volvo, but a 6 will be just fine in there.

Seating and sunpad would all depend on your carpentry/upholstery skills and imagination. Have you got some photos of your boat so we can check out what you are working on?

It would be better to post the Volvo questions in the Volvo forum. I will say say this - If the motor is a Volvo motor, very doubtful because Volvo didn't have a 6 back then. If it's a GM based motor, maybe. Again, best to post in the Volvo forum for better answers.
