1973 johnson 50hp sparks on buttom cylinder but not the top

. I have a 1973 johnson 50hp that has 90 pounds of compression on both cylinders but only has spark on the buttom. does this motor have points and condensors or is it a cdi ign. this is the man. shift motor not the electric shift. the model number of the motor is 50ES73R. any useful info would be helpful.

shop.evinrude.com has diagrams and prices for your motor under "parts"...on the left upper switch it over to johnson..find your model year...then hp. and model no...

i checked the website and their no points. so is this mean i need a powerpack because im not getting spark on the top cylinder. thanks for all help.

Dont be buying a powerpack just yet.

Start by first swapping the coils, if the "no spark" scenario follows the coil, replace it.

If not, let us know.

sorry it took so long but i finally got my new coils in which i ordered off line and when installed them i got my spark back and back in business. thanks again guys for your help.
