Hello, im having trouble with my outboard, it is a 1973 johnson 70, and here is my story.
Last year about mid year the outboards spark quit in the bottom cylinder, we tested everything and decided it was the powerpack, order a new one and installed it. The boat ran great after that and we finished up the year.
This year we pulled out the boat and got it ready for launch, started it on the stand, tested spark, compression , fresh gas ect, and everything seemed great.
We launched the boat and it didnt have any power(cut in and out), checked spark, no spark on the bottom cylinder. We installed the old powerpack and it is exactly the same....
I dont mind buying another powerpack, but i dont want it to be a matainence item, why is it killing powerpacks?
thanks!
