The engine runs great all day in deep drive, but within 10 to 30 seconds of putting it into shallow drive it boggs down then cuts out???????????????It does this most of the time but a few times it ran ok, however trying to restart it ini shallow drive it just fires up n then dies. Im guessing it somehow isnt getting fuel,, ive taken the carb out and cleaned and blown everthing out?? Im lost thanks

Make sure the float level is correct. When partially tilted in shallow water drive, it probably isn't opening and gas can't get in.

The float should be level or parallel with the mating surface of the carbureter body when the carburetor is held upside down. It should drop within 1/16" of 1-7/16" when held upright.

The floats are cork that is coated with shellac. The alcohol in modern fuels disolves the shellac so they lose effectiveness after a time.

The new OEM kits come with new floats which are a must.

The new kits also have a spring clip that connects the float arm to the needle so that it does not easily stick and prevent fuel from entering.
