I can't get my 1973 65 hp outboard to run very good at a low speed. So far I have replaced plugs, checked for proper gas venting, had the choke and all 3 carbs rebuilt. It seems to run a little better when the choke is operated manually, but it is still hard to start and dies at idle or when you try to accelerate. The last shop that I went to suggested that I drill a 5/16 hole up through the 2 exhaust holes on the outside of the motor (They claimed that they used to do this on the old 3 cylinder engines, that this helps vent the exhaust gases better).
Can anyone offer any suggestions or recomendations.

Thanks
