Ok, pump is rebuilt and working fine! It says use 20w oil, but I can not find that oil anywhere, the boat store or auto part stores. Can I use something else? It has some brownish oil in it but I am not sure what it is. The trim and tilt motor is mounted inside the boat.

Thanks

10W30 should work fine.
Or use dexron auto trans fluid.

My '77 Merc 1500 PTT called for 5W-30 motor oil. The PTT unit is the same as yours I believe. People do use ATF. I would not think you want to mix AFT and motor oil, so make sure you know what is in there.

ATF will mix with any petroleum base oil that's why it was recommended for awhile

Thanks for all the help. I used 10W30 Full Synthetic. A Hydraulic pump mfr told me to use that. It works fine just finished it.

I love the water!
