Hi all, i am considering buying a vessel fitted with a 73 65hp Evinrude (65373R) which at the moment the seller says is working well. Since the engine is pretty old i was wondering if parts for this model are still easy to find, any ideas?

Cheers.

I recently had to go to a dealer to get some parts for my '73 Johnson 85 and it looked like they could get just about anything I might need for it. The 3 cylinder Johnnyrudes were great motors and you just missed the dreaded electric shift years (1972 and prior). I say go for it.

BRP, Bombardier, the owners of OMC, list parts back to 1968. Your OMC Dealer can supply.

Thanks everyone, i checked the link provided by Rick and had a quick look for ign parts, stock of powerpacks and coils looked to be getting a little thin but rectifyers and stators seemed okay.

Cheers.

a lot of people use aftermarket power packs, (CDI is good). the most expensive parts are the lower unit shift parts. it is a hydro-mechanical shift.
