Hello everyone! I bought a Starcraft SS five years ago, it had all the carpet torn and thread bare. The original blue/teal paint was in very bad condition... Four years ago I repainted it (Blue Interior, Not the White hull) and put on new carpet as the wood was in decent shape. I bought new seats and rewired most of the boat. Well... Life became a little busy and the SS sat until now. Recently I have begun to have time again to pull it back out and.. I wish I never put it away! It undone a lot of work from the neglect of letting it sit, some paint (New) is chipped and missing now and the seats look terrible and moldy. It is nothing that cannot be fixed but, man do I regret letting it sit... It is really a beautiful boat. Since the weather the last few days I have not been able to get picture but I will try to post some tomarrow. I still do not have a motor nor the title as the boat has gone through several owners since the last year it was in the water (2003). I do know the title owner's name and location (White Pages), but I fear he may not be alive (He is in his late 70's). As of now I need to get the title, get a bilge pump, outboard motor, finish the wiring, scrub the seats, vacuum the rest of the carpet (was filled with leaves and pollen), get the trailer road ready, Install the light switches, and buy some little things (Battery, ropes, etc.). Well... I'll try to get some photos to you guys soon. Bye!

Dustin

Be careful about putting any money into it unless you have a title for it. Call your local DMV about the title issue.

You are temporarily forgiven for NOT posting pics....you have til tomorrow to post pics or there's gonna be trouble!

No wonder you let her sit, it took you five years to show up here. :faint2: The Mob would have been prodding. Yeah sitting and no use seems to un-do a lot of good work. Those look like original seats, they might clean up.

Get those papers fixed up first thing. Welcome to the Valley of Tin, Dustin.

+1 on go talk to the record owner ASAP. he may be very helpful and if he's still alive/mentally competent now, he may not be tomorrow.

welcome to the mob! nice original boat.

Dustin----go get a cover for it. i've really loved the results from covering my 3 tinnies....the entropy doesn't push things backward, even if you haven't opened the boat up in months. plus you can even sit in boat under the cover and work, even when it's cold or windy. look at the pics in my Holiday thread.

Welcome Dustin! Hopefully you're able to get that sweet boat documented!

To add what B2 already said, portable garages are pretty sweet if you have the room.

If you're in Eastern-NY, Try ShelterLogic; they're right in Connecticut and save yourself a bunch in shipping. If you decide to go this route, I recommendation upgrading to the heavy-duty cover; 10yr warranty (prorated).

Walmart normally has some pretty decent covers. You can make some ribs(to raise cover so that water runs off the cover) out of 1" PVC pipe.

Out of Stock.... Ill have to watch them though... They look promising! ;)

Geez I guess I need to occasionally check my sources. Looks like that place is getting out of the business. Not much in their ebay store either. I got my cover and bimini from them and am pleased. Another member had posted a link to a place that sold similar looking covers but I can't seem to find it. These also seem similar HURRICANE & SILVER-TECH Universal Fit Boat Covers at Tarp & Cover Superstore and I have dealt with Eastern Marine before for other products and they're great.
