The way you do it is open iboats and your photobucket in differant windows you move your mouse over a picture in your photobucket and a menu will drop down under the picture . Then just left click on the bottom option then right click and hit copy . Then when you are writing a post here right click in the message and left click on paste and your picture will show up here .

Hey ZRT I hope you know that there are many on this site that have been waiting for a good deal on a 16-18ft SS:D I'd like to find a 1977 SS 16' myself;)

Good luck with the project:)...feel free let the starcraft armada know if you have questions, since there are some experienced tinny restorers with good advice lurking around.

ZRT that green SS is one sweet rig. I think you are going to love this boat for a long time after you are done with the restore. Good luck with the project.:D

Sorry guys but I have not been working on the boat since Oct.1 Between hunting season and work I just have not had time. I will be working on it soon enough as I just bought the wood for the floor and transom this weekend. I will update with pics soon.

No need to apologize zrt, we all have to take breaks during the resto projects(mine due to monetary challenges at times;)) I really just got started last week on mine as well.

Glad to hear you will be getting to it though, also, did you get a deer?
I was delayed picking my rig up for deer season as well, a worthy excuse I'd say:D

Well, I got off my but today and went out to the garage and turned the heat on for a few hours. Then I cut the new transom and the first piece of the floor. I will try to get the rest of the floor cut out this week and add some pics. And yes, I got a Spike. It dressed out at 178 lbs

Well I went out in to the frezzer (Pole Barn @ 28 degree's) and tried the piece of floor I cut last night. It fit great right after I had to use a punch and chiesel to remove the rest of the rivits that did not come out after drilling the heads off. I went ahead and cut the second piece of flooring and again was using the punch and chiesel. This piece fits great also. Sorry I forgot the photo's maybe tomorrow.

One of the things you can not see on the transom pic is I used 2 different thicknesses on plywood. One piece is 3/4" and the other is 5/8". I did this on purpose this way I can cut a 1/8" piece of aluminum to seal the exposed area of the transom.I know it will cost me a extra $50-$75 but I feel it will be worth it not to leave the wood exposed.

Re: 1973 Starcraft 16ft. SS Rebuild Pics

If any of you have looked at my photo bucket you probable have noticed the in-line 4 cylinder. That is a 1978 80HP Mercury that I am rebuilding from top to bottom to put on this SS. The 1972 50HP Johnson twin that was on it when I bought the boat was not worth rebuilding in my opinion. It was already rebuilt once and only had 85 lbs of compression. The good thing is I sold the motor as is for $425. which almost covered the cost of the boat. I paid $175 for the 80 HP Mercury with power tilt and trim. As of now ( I sold my 14ft boat) I am broke even with this boat and motor with new pistons. I still have to buy bearings and gasket set for the motor and epoxy for the wood. Hopefully I can get my camera fixed so I can take more pics soon!!

Zrt, you are not alone when it comes to money:( The good news is you can always find something to tinker with on the boat. Your motor brings back good memories. I had rebuilt a 140 Suzuki in my shed one winter. Never done one before but she ran like a raped ape when I got her finished.:D Since your rebuild is taking time, make darn sure the parts are seperated and safe. Its terrible when you end up missing something during rebuild:mad: Great work, keep the pics coming.;) Dale

I think that is a fantastic idea.

Re: 1973 Starcraft 16ft. SS Rebuild Pics

A 16' Starcraft SS powered by a 80h Merc...sounds awfully familiar:) I'm biased but that sounds like a great combo to run.

We'll have to get together and see how they perform once we are all done with our projects:D

Good luck getting the OB back in shape, sounds like a good idea covering the wood on the transom. Anything that keeps it dry should go a long way for long-term use.

Where are you located zrt? I'm just north of Lansing a bit.

Re: 1973 Starcraft 16ft. SS Rebuild Pics

Thanks guys, The sealed up transom idea came to me when I tore out the old transom, The motor clamps was about 5/8" deep in to the rotted wood. As far as the motor rebuild goes every thing is in seperate plastic bags. A get to gether sounds great. I am just west of Midland. Huron angler, If you need any motor parts let me know as I also have a older 80HP with a distributor that is a parts motor. The one that I am rebuilding has a CDI on it.
