Looking for suggestions on stringer replacement for this boat. Should stringers be glassed directly to hull or have some sort of cushion to prevent stress?
This is an Arrowglass Boat.

From what I have seen with mine, the stringers do more than just help form the hull and keep it strong, but because they are structural, they help to transfer stress from the transom back into the boat.

Most here use a thickened resin called peanut butter and glue it directly to the hull. Some use waterproof construction adhesive and glue them to the hull. Gassing from the mastic takes a little longer than the PB to be ready for fillets and then tabbing.

Woodonglass has a drawing that help explain the layup.
