I have 115 that no matter what I do, it won't pump water. I've double checked' 3 times that there are no obstructions. Checked the impellar. Don't know where the thermostats are. I took the piece off where the 2 hoses come in at the back of the motor. There isn't anything in there. Maybe someone before me took them out. Are they necessary? In a car you can leave them out and it will just run cool. Will the exhaust gasket, being bad, cause it to not pump correctly? Last time I put it back together again, it started popping back out off the water, it got me soaked. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong. Thanks, I just want to go fishing.

Hi, thanks for the responce. It hasn't pumped that I could see since I got it. I took the lower unit off to check the impellar and it seemed as if it were in backwards. When looking down at the impellar inside the casing, the fins were pointingclockwise. From what I understand, they are supposed to be facing counterclockwise. I'm not sure anymore. I don't know how to see if the water tubes are lined up correctly. Before it ran pretty smoothly, now it's popping out of the lower unit and splashing all over the place. I'm gonna buy a new impellar and a new exhaust gasket. I hear they also have something called poppet valves and springs. Not sure at all where to find them. And I don't see any themostat when I take off that block in the back where the water hoses go. I had this think running pretty good except for the pumping problem. I never let it get hot, I always turned it off before you couldn't touch the block. I'm gonna buy all the parts, If you could maybe give some hints as what to look for' I'd be forever in your debt. Thanks Bob
