1974 650 65hp fuel pump issue

hello everyone, this is my fuel pump issue ,just the other day we were cruising wot for about 2hrs straight up and down the fox river when I lost rpms and motor started bogging and very sluggish so I squeezed bulb and a little bit change in rpm but not much so got home checked fuel filter & ok so took apart fuel pump & looked ok but diaphragm was baggy so I hope that is the problem or I'm going in the wrong direction ???? please help

Hi,

You should replace th diaphram if it is that streached out. It may not be your whole problem because it should have made more of a difference squeezing the primer bulb. If you switched tanks you may have picked up a little water in the carbs. Check the tanks for water. If you find some you will probably have to pull the bowl tops off and clean them.

I just rebuilt one on a 70 hp merc,3 dollars in parts and 15 minutes time.

well ordered a kit for $12 bucks and it did start to bog after i hit a big wave so maybe there might be some water in the carb bowl I just might have to check that out & also thanks so much for the feed back
