I just bought this boat and it had not been run since 1995. Well it started right up at the guys house and ran a little rough. I bought new plugs and put them in . Then it ran fine. A week later i was going to start it up and when i hooked up the battery it arced. I found that problem it was this round thing with three wires. The insulation had come off one of the wires.I think it is called the rectifier.I fixed that wire problem. Well went to start it again and it had another short. This time it is the starter. With the starter off I still seem have a short. What are the three wires on the rectifier anyway? I know one is pos. What are the other two
