1974 85hp water pump removal

If I do the job on the back of the boat. Is there enough room to pull the lower end with the shaft, out? Or do you have to remove motor from boat to get enough clearance. Kinda dumb question I know, but.

Yes you can do the job on the boat. Also its good idea to have four hands.
