I have a 1974 chrysler 105 HP and just put it in the water yesterday, the boat ran fine as far as not overheating. The rpms wouldnt get up to more than 2,000 because the throttle wasn't pulling enough line. Does anyone know how to adjust that or what else it could be? other than that, it didn't like to stay running in Neutral either.
please help:confused:

It's getting late so I need to keep this short.

You need to first check compression on all cylinders, then you need to check spark. Also, 74 may have still had points firing electronic ignition. corroded or improperly set points will cause poor running. These engines will run on three cylinders but not too well. If both those are OK, then you need to synchronize the timing and carb linkage. That is a LONG involved explanation so best to buy a Clymers manual and follow the instructions there. If you search for other posts--probably on timing or carb linkage, I have in the past replied with a full length explanation as to how to synchronize.
