Hi everyone!! I am new to iboats. I recently had a friend show me a boat for sale that I fell in love with. The problem is after talking to the owner is that he does not know what kind of boat it is. I looked at the title, but only got from it that it was a 1974 Chrysler. I couldnt take any pictures of it as he had it covered with so much stuff in his garage. I could only make out that it was a boat in there somewhere. As he described it to me it has an outboard engine, a driving seat, a passenger seat that folds down into a bench/bed, an open bow that can fit 4 passengers, and its 16feet long. Can anyone direct me to a website that might have pictures of all 16ft 1974 chrysler boats? I am very interested in purchasing the boat, but would like to make sure I can find parts for it. He said it has some cracks in the fiberglass and all the vinyl and carpets would need replacing. He is going to try and clean it off, but really does not want to until he knows he has a sale. He was also going to try and find pictures of it from when he has taken it out. My friend has been on the boat and the engine/electrical are in great shape and it does not leak. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: 1974 Chrysler ??

I know it has been a month since you posted this, but I saw that it didn't have an answer. Chrysler had a few boats, and here is a site that has about as much information as I have been able to find on Chrysler boats :

http://www.hurrikain.com/Chryslercrew-new.htm

My guess is that it is a 1974 Chrysler Conqueror. I also have a '74 Conqueror. It is 16 foot and has a 105 horsepower chrysler outboard on it. The boat is awesome, and I get comments and compliments anytime I go out on it. They were definitely ahead of their time.

I have not had any problems with mine, and I know that you can still get most of the parts. Check out that site, there should be a few links to parts as well. There is also a Yahoo group called "Chrysler Crew" which is an EXTREMELY helpful group of guys (some of them worked for Chrysler and on these boats) that can help steer you in the right direction.

Chrysler also made a 'big brother' to that 16' Conqueror also known as the Conqueror S-III. It was 18'6" and had a Chrysler inboard V8 in it. I just picked up one that I will hopefully restore that has a 340ci in it.

Hope this helps!
