1974 Evinrude 15HP

This engine was running 2 weeks ago but will not now start. It managed about 2 seconds running last time I tried. I have changed plugs, checked for fuel etc. I have noticed that there is a lot of movement of the throttle plate. In the start position it is possible to turn it through approx 15 degrees, is this normal? Should it have a return spring somewhere?

Have you checked for spark? Have you tried spraying fuel into the carb?<br /><br />I wish I was in the business of selling spark plugs. It seems that no matter the problem most guys buy new plugs.<br /><br />Good luck.
