Hello, I am new to this forum, and actually new to owning a boat. I have done some wheeling and dealing and have a 1974 Sea Ray SRV190, 188hp 302 Ford w/ a 888 sterndrive. It has a bad lower
and I was wondering what lower units would fit this model? Will an Alpha 1 Gen 1 fit it or is there a specific lower only for the 888? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best advice would be to buy a complete new drive from SEI. They are about $1395 and are on iBaots.. The correct ratio for the 888 is 1.5:1. The original drive was known as an "MC-1", but anything up to and including an Alpha One (Gen I) will bolt straight on.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately money being on the short side, I probably will be looking for just a lower. If I had the money, I would like a total new unit. Thanks again
