I have this remote that I'm having an issue with the neutral start. I shift to neutral and shut down. All Okay. When I start back up the lever is in a "dead spot" until I bump it forward until it stops. Then I have a connection and it starts up.

I see #68 is the neutral start switch and is Unavailable. Is there an adjustment that can be made to move the switch back? Other suggestions?

I can live with it now but the fear is the switch will fail and leave me dead in the water.

If you learn how to jumper the starter solenoid with a 6" piece of wire you will not be left stranded out there.

Ok racer, I'll take some education until I get a more direct response. Im sure you're familiar with the solenoids buts its been a long time since I used a screwdriver on my '64 Chevy.

Jump top to bottom 5/16 posts? What are the 2 smaller terminals?

Jump the small non-black wire to the IN side of the solenoid (the side NOT going to the starter motor). That way you won't cook a light duty wire trying to feed mucho amps through it. Fewer pretty sparks, too...

I said it wrong. Jump to the large terminal that does not go to the starter. That is the battery lead and you need to jump 12 volts to the top small terminal to simulate the key switch. It will spark.

Jumping the way I said the first time won't do anything.

Thanks ALL on that technical tip if I ever need it.

Still want to know if there is an adjustment for the neutral start as in my OP.

Any thoughts? Pull the switch and open it up? Weak or stuck plunger return spring?

Yep, there's a small switch inside the box that kills power unless its in neutral. May have been bent, come loose, etc. Won't know until you open 'er up...
