My trim and tilt is the older style that has the hydraulic arms on the outside that pushes against a bracket that is bolted to the motor. The pump motor is a Calco. I am wondering if I can swap motors. It looks like the Prestolite model will bolt up?

Any thoughts?

I believe they will. Most all the replacement motors are Prestolite.

The Prestolite motor will not bolt up to the Calco, however, you can get an adapter from calcoguy@yahoo.com which will allow the use of the ARCO 6206 (3-wire) or 6220 (2-wire) motor on that tilt/trim. The ARCO motor is a little over $100, and the adapter was $120. That's less than half the cost of the only available alternative (a new pump/motor assembly), and it works like a champ. I put some pictures of my Calco unit up in another post. He also has units to adapt the ARCO style motors to Prestolite, which is alot cheaper as well.
