Press the primer bulb and see if its getting hard & tight. Then press again a check for leaks.

Is the motor hard to start ?

Get a spray botttle and fill it with premix, spray it directly into the carbs and see if it runs/fires that way if it does you can try pumping the primer bulb to verify that the fuel pump is working. If not look for a fuel line or vent restriction. All this assumes that the motor is sound, good compression, and it is gettinggood spark.

It will crank up and run as long as you spray fuel in the carbs hadnt had any help so pumping the ball while getting it running hasn't been an option

Re: 1975 115 Johnson

I had a similar problem with my Johnson 115. What I had to do was drain the tank of fuel and clean it out. I bought the boat from a friend and it would start and run strong for about 5min then die out like it ran out of fuel. Once the take was empty we noticed that the tank had tree leaves in it which was blocking the fuel stem running into the tank. Also check your fuel stem and make sure it is not cracked or has a hole in it.

When trying to start the engine and it seems "dead", pull out two spark plugs. Are they wet or dry? That will tell you something.

Sounds like a fuel restriction try using a different fuel tank and line, borrow a portable tank if you can and see if it runs. Look over your fuel lines and make sure your tank is venting. Check for obstructions in thr fuel
