Do they make different length steering tubes? I had a 1992 johnson 115hp on my boat and am replacing it with a 1975 and it appears that there is not enough threads to hook up the hydraulic steering that is on the boat? I also cannot find the tube on the parts diagrams so if someone has a part number that would be great!

It is on the diagram at BRP. Part number 317769. As I remember, the tube can be moved back and forth some by adjusting the nuts. In fact it can even be changed so that it sticks out the opposite side of the brackets for attaching steering from the other side.

The tubes do not have that much adjustment to shift from side to side, you have to remove them and swap it from side to side. The 1992 is 1" dia. tube and cable side is threaded 1 3/8" long and arm side is threaded 3/4"long. The 1975 tube is 7/8"dia. and cable side threads are 1 5/8" long and arm side 7/8"
