I am needing help with what I hope is a simple problem.
I need a picture or help with the linkage pins from the throttle shaft to the selenoid. There is a plastic piece holding the pin that is not shown in any diagrams.

My problem is that my throttle is wide open and cannot figure out if a screw or somthing is missing. The linkage rode just slips through the plastic piece not doing anything

Thanks

It would help if you would describe exactly what the problem is. I have pictures in a service manual, which I viewed, but they would be of absolutely no help s they don't really show anything in detail.

Is it a case that when you apply throttle, the bottom gear on the port side turns BUT the vertical rod that extends up to the armature plate/timer base does not move, something of that nature?

Try to give us a explanation of what is happening. What and where is this pin you speak of?

Re: 1975 25 hp johnson question

Pictures sent via email showed that the linkage pertained to the choke linkage extending from the electric choke bellcrank to the slide thru white nylon snap in retainer that is connected to the throttle bellcrank. All was well, simply a matter of not fully understanding the linkage's function.
