1975, 7.5hp carb rebuild problems

Hello all;

I'm doing a carb overhaul on my older Merc outboard. It's a 1975 7.5 hp. I have the carb kit and the Seloc manual but the problem I'm having is with the inlet needle valve and spring - it's frozen/corroded and I can't get it out. I have soaked it with carb cleaner and also have tried penetrating oil to free it but no luck. Any advice on how to get it out?

Second question; any leads on getting a replacement inlet needle valve and spring? The carb kit doesn't have these parts.
