how about trying going from a fast idle and slamming it into gear?

Mine seems that the idle is pretty fast but without that, it would probably kill when put into gear.

NOT RIGHT, not good for the equipment.

Fix the problem. It's almost always a malfunctioning carb or link and sync. on triple loopers.

i should restate: my definition of fast idle is about 1/4 throttle since my motor will kill at or past 1/2 throttle (also cause I fear it will blow up :D)

Again, that is NOT how it supposed to work. If you have to do that, you have a problem.

If you continue to do that, you will go from a $50.00 carb job to a $900.00 lower unit job.
