My 75hp evinrude will be going along fine and then just starts revving high and I have to put in neutral then back in forward and it is fine. It seems to happen when I wave more of a load in front and when I change load around it doesnt happen is this normal.

Sounds like cavitation or ventilation. That's when an air bubble gets around the prop blades and they lose their bite into the water. Can be caused by many things, most common are weeds on the lower unit, marine growth on the boat bottom, motor too high on the transom.

Prop hub slippage doesn't normally heal itself by stopping. Normally, that is.

thanks for your reply. I didnt know if the lower unit was going out or what was happening. It never happened till I had someone wanting to go out with me and my kids and I had the 2 other people loaded in the front so I guess it lowered the front to much and had the motor too high. after I moved them to the back it didnt happen.
