I want to install a tacho for my motor and it has the wire connections in the control box. I know i cant use a normal automobile tacho and i need a special tacho for outboard marine applications.<br /><br />1. I need to know how many poles my alternator has, since most websites that are selling tachos need that information. I think its 12; however, im not sure?<br /><br />2. A marine tacho for my motor has selection switches on the back, will i need to select 6p if the alternator has 12 poles?
