This motor will not come up on revs. I notice that there does not appear to be a fuel pump. The tank is new and of the all garden variety, not pressurized. Is there some sort of pump built into the carb?
Any input would be appreciated.

Don't know the answer about the pump, but the motor probably was made by Eska, who also made lots of Sears motors. Knowing that might help with your search.

Thanks for the response. I am aware that the motors have the Eska connection along with a whole bunch of other labeled motors made by Eska.
Perhaps someone can clarify the fuel pump issue.

The fuel line looks like it's connected to a fuel pump. What's behind that plate?

Thanks for the response. I don't know whats behind the plate but I will try to find out.
You have raised a good point as it doesn't look like the usual hose connection.
Will investigate.
Thanks again.

There is a fuel pump on the side of the carb where the fuel hose goes in. Diaphragm is Sears part #631555.

Thanks again for the responses.RCO you may have it. Brim Buster the carb I have is nothing like that that you have posted. My thanks anyway.
Under paint we find that it is in fact a Tecumseh made motor. I will pull the carb and clean paint off and hopefully be able to identify the model. Discount Marine Parts show a carb kit for this motor. Need to find an impeller and figure out how this lower unit separates. 110 PSI on both pots but the sparks are not very good.
Thanks again and keep it coming. Every bit of help is greatly appreciated. Just one more thing, (that phrase sounds familiar) does anyone have a handle on what the correct plugs are for this motor?

The carb kit I posted has the diaphram # 631555 its stated in the ad under description. Those carbs on Eskas that year were pretty much all the same. Just saying....

Brim-Buster thanks for the help. Have ordered the parts . Can you tell me, before I try to pull it, how the lower unit is removed.
Thanks again.

If it has a metal clip above the foot that is where you disconnect the shift shaft. It should be on the back side. I think the 7.5 and 9.9 were all gear driven with FNR. It should also have a water pump impellor possibly to cool the leg. I mainly had and restored Gamefishers and Teddys. Did restore a regular Eska 3.5 for a friend. They are all pretty much the same just like your later model Clintons which have an Eska leg and foot.

These are liquid cooled outboard powerheads on the 9.9 and 15 hp Eskas. Much different than the more common air/water cooled smaller models . The water pump impellers are still available from a few sources, or you can use the pre 79 Mercury 4-9.8 hp pump with minor modification for the drive key.

Making progress. Thanks to you all for the responses. Very helpful. Got the carb kit and Impeller from Discount marine parts.
Just called them and gave the model number. Cleaned and rebuilt the carb. Yes it has a tiny diaphragm pump under the aforementioned plate. The pump is pretty feeble and will only work with the tank just below the level of the motor. Not like Evinrude pumps of course. Will try removing the lower unit tomorrow The motor runs very well after resetting the carb.
