1975 90hp carb problems

the carbs r froze up on my 90 hp chrysler, it sat for many years, i was told there was nothing i could do but get new carbs, and i said BS, got to be some type of rebuild kit, or a solution for unfreezing them, any help would be great! and what if i tore them off, and took them apartand cleaned them?????

Taking them off and cleaning them will most likely solve your problem. You may though need to remove the low speed jet(Tube) to clean it properly. You will have to get 3 carb kits that have the small plug for the top to replace after you remove the tube.<br /><br />These kits will be avail at any Mercury dealer. If your carbs are Tillotson, NAPA should have the rebuild kits for them.
