1975 Evinrude 40hp: what years are lower unit compatible?

Evinrude, model "40554 G", 1975. I would like to buy a take-off prop lower unit from ebay.

What model years would share a lower unit with this motor?
What horse power models would share a lower unit? (60HP?)

73-76 or 77. would be hydro-mechanical shift, for the lower unit.

I have several boat options for use of this motor. Having the pump mounted to a smaller or larger motor could be important to me. Attaching a prop lower would make this motor more flexible. I make the assumption that there are other Evinrude or Johnson motors that have about the same size powerhead, and share other major parts such as the lower unit.

What other motor models (horsepower rating) within the '73-'76 range would use the same lower unit?
