1975 Galaxie 15' project

hi guys,<br />i just join this forum, looking for help fixing up a budget project i got for $75. overall condition of the boat's hull is fine, but the interior needed to be redone.<br /><br />i will need to redo the electronics, steering, etc. i can see a long list already. <br /><br />fiberglass repair: some parts on the transom need strenghten & repair small crack; would auto fiberglass repair kit (rasin & fiberglass cloth) work for boat?<br /><br />currently it doesn't have a motor. looks like it had an outboard, any recommendation for the engine hp for this size boat?<br /><br />anyone have information regarding this boat? i'm looking for schematics for hooking up hoses, etc.

browsing through a few threads i noticed this boat in studlymandingo 's avatar and i like the center console configuration very much. i will see about retrofiting that. how's the steering lines routed in this setup ?<br />

Thanks for the compliment! I really prefer a center console boat. The steering cable goes through the console, and under the floor. There are a couple of threads on making a center console out of a different style hull. JasonJ goes through a conversion on his website JasonJ's Skanky Beast Conversion I'm sure that will give you some really good information. Post some pics as your project progresses. We all love to see pictures, and you will get some good insight from people who have already undertaken some of the things that may be new to you. Don't hesitate to ask questions, there are some really helpful people here that like to share their knowledge. Nearly all of us on the forum has a bit of smart@$$ in us and enjoy mixing a bit of humor in with the posts Keeps it from getting monotonous. Use the red "search" button at the top of the page. Look up transom repair, sounds like you may need to get into that on your boat. <br /><br />Welcome to iboats.

<br /><br />This is an older photo, I've done some upgrading since. Try to post some new photos before long. I'll post one that shows the positioning of the console if it will help you with placement.
