1975 Johnson 50hp. 2cyl. <br />Motor won't idle and stalls at low speed when warm. <br />History: motor was running fine until cracks developed in the coils - shorting out. Put some shielding over the cracks and the engine was fine. Replaced coils and everything was ok. Couple days later (after about 10 or 20 starts) lost ignition - starter solenoid went. Jumped the motor and it would run. Replaced solenoid and that fixed the ignition problem. Now however I'm getting a weak idle that races (up to proper RPM) intermittently and eventually stalls. This problem was isolated to idle but is now occuring at low running speed as well. Do I have a ground problem or is this unrelated (fuel)? Assembling the coil plug leads is a little tricky could I have messed that up? <br />Any suggestions?
