Ok, still no spark on this thing. Before I got it my friend had it running as long as u sprayed mix into the carbs. Now got it, and no spark? Ive posted alot before on this. Ive replaced the ignition switch, the internal wiring harness, the stator. Im getting the +12 on the red terminal on the switchbox, but not on the white when i turn the key. What could have happened from the time my friend had it to when I got it? Is there something really simple that I am doing wrong? Helllpppp..

+12 from red goes up to the key and gets switched onto white when you turn the key on.. that's all there is to it. Use an ohm meter and follow the voltage path.

-W

Hmm, other question. I did something to my control and now I cant tell if i have the engine in neutral. If not in neutral, will this stop it from starting? Looking at the engine, is there anyway to tell if the engine is in neutral?

Thanks

If the motor is not in neutral, the starter will not engage. The motor will still run, and you should have +12VDC on that white wire on the switchbox. No juice = no run.

If you cannot tell if your motor is in neutral (handle straight up, in between detents, prop spins free), I would remove the prop and jump the starter solenoid to make it crank. You will need to find out what is wrong and fix it, course.

If you "did it" you'd have +12 on white, so something got "did wrong". FOLLOW your +12 all the way to the key and back. You don't win till it gets back there.

-W
