I'm looking to replace my fuel lines. I can find the lines at various stores but they seem very expensive. I was wondering if anyone has changed the fittings to barbed ends and buy hose and cut to size? Not sure if I am making sense? I have looked for some direction on this but came up empty.

Is it possible to just replace the hose and reuse the fittings?

If your motor is like the one in my sig, I cut the crimps off the fittings, replaced the hose and used worm gear hose clamps. The fuel pressure isn't high and it's worked fine for about 5 years with no leaks.

Merc is proud of the OEM fuel lines/fitting assemblies.

Either a tubing cutter, hacksaw or file. Maybe even a pair of dykes. The crimp ring is soft brass so whatever cut it to release the hose.
