1975 Merc 850 Power Tilt & Trim

I've had my PT&T unit off for a while now. I took it off because it was not working and I wanted to clean it up inside. I took the armature out and it was nasty and I notice a wire rusted off the case on the inside. Does anyone know of a good place to send it to have it rebuilt? Or would it be better just to by a replacement?

Kyle, Take it to an auto generator/starter shop. See if they can fix it up. If not, aftermarker replacements are avail. You will need to buy a replacement motor and resevoir assembly. There are more than one that look right, but only one will fit. The length of the armature is the key difference. Make sure the original part number crosses to the replacement.

Thanks Chirs, I'll check on-line to see if I can locate a shop. It's in pretty bad shape, probably best just to buy the aftermarket replacement.
