1975 Mercury 65 HP three cyl interchange

Anyone know if a lower from a 1975 Merc 65 HP 3 cyl and a 1966 50 HP Mercury will interchange?<br /> They look pretty much the same.... but the driveshaft on the 66' doesn't have a preload pin.

I thought the driveshaft was bigger on the triple, try it and see if it fits.<br /><br />-W

No. They look alike but the triple has a wider bolt pattern. Sucks!!! The pin wouldn't be critical.
