I have a Vanson Trailer for a 16ft boat from the mid 70's but I need new bearings. Does anyone know what size of bearings are fitted to this size/type of trailer. I know I could take the hub apart to find out what the bearings are, but I don't want to take the trailer out of service until I have replacement bearing in hand if possible.

Thanks

You got no answers to your question because it's impossible to tell. There are multiple bearing/seal sizes possible on any trailer. Bite the bullet and pull the hub on one side and measure the bearings and seal diameters...

Re: 1975 Vanson Trailer

I have a Vanson trailer from about that vintage, but without knowing if the axle weight ratings are the same, it still might give you the wrong information. I just got a Trail-rite trailer with a boat this year, double axle, that had a smaller than normal bore on the inside of the hubs for the inner race and seal. Finally found a reference to it in one of the trailer supplier info panels. I didn't want to get stuck somewhere with a non-standard size, so I bought 4 new hubs for about $34 each off the web. The bearings & seals would have cost me about $28, so I figured that was a good way to go.
