Hey everyone!

Finally got my "new" boat in the water, and have had pretty decent luck so far, all things considered. The only thing that I've really seemed to have a lot of trouble with is the control cable assembly.

To get the throttle to full, a LOT of force is required to push the control arm forward. I have taken apart the control box and relubricated everything with a nice heavy bearing grease, similar to what seemed to be in there in the first place. The cables seem to be OK, when they are disconnected from the engine, they slide nice and smooth - even so, I put some more grease at both ends and worked it back and forth 10 or so times, with the cables disconnected. Still seems to require a lot of force once they are reconnected.

Tried adjusting the knobs on the motor side to see if that was affecting the cables. All it seems to have done is slow down the top speed and raise the idle... does this sound weird to anyone but me? Also, about 70 percent of the movement of the stick seems to do nothing, all the adjustment seems to be in the last 30 percent, so the throttle is VERY twitchy.

One last thing - whenever I take the cable off of the throttle (motor end), there seems to be a lot of clockwise torque in the cable, and its tough to get it back on. Has the thing gotten twisted inside the sheath? Is there a fix?

Any kind of suggestions are appreciated.
