I have a 1976 115hp.Evinrude that is in mint shape, but it missfires when first started. It will idle fine, but while under load it missfires until up on plane. I have tuned up the motor and checked the ignition wiring, also rebuilt the carbs.

Welcome to iboats,bobo.

It may be missfiring all the time, but you will only be able to tell when the engine is under load. Before running it much more, you need to find the reason,as one cylinder may be running dry,and this is bad news on a 2cycle engine.

Try pulling one plug wire at a time, until you finf one (or more) that make no difference on the plug or not. Those cylinders are dead.
Now, you need to find out if it is spark or fuel that is missing there.
See if you can see or hear the arc of the spark on that plug(s) when you slowly put it back on.If you don't, check for spark with a spark checker.

Try shooting a bit of gas into the carb that feeds the dead cylinders, and see if performance picks-up. If so, you most-likely have a carb problem.

Thanks for the reply 12Footer. I will try what you have sugested. One thing I forgot to mention, after the motor warms up the problem disapears and will not come back until the motor cools off.
